Our Caravan & Camping Lifestyle Blog.

"Doing Great Things with Great People."

Hello - Welcome to ANZAC NOMADS. Glad you could make it.

Our names are Chris and Rowena.

We are a "retired" Christlike couple having FUN living the Caravan & Camping Chaplaincy Lifestyle, driven by our Kingdom Entrepreneurial Calling, while enjoying the Grey Nomad Lifestyle.

It may seem that our lifestyle lacks a rigid structure; however, we do balance our lifestyle through our offline connection with our home base, One Church Perth and our collaborative relationship with Church Gathering Online. Our "go with the flow" attitude toward life is intentional & missional.

Online & Offline church relationships are key strategies in our calling to advance the Kingdom of God, locally and in the wider body.

Our Family Means Everything To Us. - To God, the family is a divine institution meant to provide love, support, and a foundation for faith. Our family means everything to us. God established the family at the beginning of creation. We are central in His plan for human happiness and progress.
He expects families to follow His will, honouring parents and children and forming a core building block of our personal world. God also creates a spiritual "family of God" through believers, inviting all to join through faith in Jesus Christ.

Our Bucket List: When we travel, we plan to visit the outback, stay in local towns enjoying free camping spots, embrace farm stays, thrive at HipCamps, find great camping or caravan spots amd go to other places on our bucket list, such as -

  • Crossing the Nullabor.

  • Doing the Oodnadatta Track.

  • Visiting Arnhem Land.

  • Taking on the Gibb River Road and

  • Going to the Rugby World Cup 2027.

  • And much more ...

We have our respective families who live on Kangaroo Island and in New South Wales & Queensland. We must see them because family is a strong core value we live and encourage others to foster.

A bit about us ...

We are Chris and Rowena Tutauha.

  • Rowena was born in Australia, so she says "Gidday."

  • I was born in New Zealand, so I say "Kia Ora."

We were married in 1989. 35 years as of 2024. Over the years we evolved into an ANZAC couple, bringing together the pioneering and warrior spirit.

  • Since we "retired" we became Grey Nomads - forming ANZAC NOMADS

  • We have 2 x adult daughters, 10 x grandchildren and 1 x great granddaughter.

  • We do not live full time on the road, nor do we plan to. We have a home in Balga that is our headquarters and home base.

At our initial "shake down" trip. The first trip, our Car broke down, so we had to call the trip off.

At our next "shake down" trip, we made it to Lake Kepwari and stayed at David Ugle Campground.

Pictured with our daughter, 3 of her children and Buster, their Sharpei.

Our beloved Maltese Shih Tzu, Marley, whom we lost on 13th October 2024.

We decided in honour of our beloved cat Lightning whom we also lost recently to name our OPUS OP4 TLX 2025 Camper Trailer Lightning. It was a very sad day losing him too. His mother Precious had 8 kittens and he was as fast a grease Lightning. He had his routines and kept us on our toes and definitely kept an eye on Marley.

We had other cats Angel, Banjo, Eddy and Boris who brought us so much joy.
