What do we have to think about? Would it be the way we run our business and do community work, as well as the obligations we have committed to? Would it be just a minor shift or a significant change in our retirement plan?

All we know is that after 21 years of a lifestyle that has been demanding and relentless, it has taken a toll, and we need to take time to think and explore a new way of living. We do know that this trip is about slowing right down, paying attention and letting God do what He does best.

We plan to film along the way. Mostly because we want to enjoy the road, have good conversations, and whatever else the journey brings.

Why are we doing things differently?

  • Relentlessness: the constant sense of responsibility to produce, respond, lead, and sustain momentum.

  • Output-driven identity: being valued (by others or ourselves) for what we build, teach, or steward rather than who we are becoming.

  • Chronic urgency: ministry clocks, business cycles, expectations—spoken and unspoken—that never fully power down.

  • Decision fatigue: years of carrying weighty choices without sufficient recovery space.

This is not a rejection of business or community work.

It is a temporary laying down of authority, optimisation, and outcomes.

In this season, we plan:

  • To let God work without needing to explain Himself later.

  • To enjoy conversations that go with the flow—and make our decisions from there.

  • To rediscover delight without a mission statement attached.

  • To remember that faith matures as much through rest as through obedience.

  • To find new ways to have FUN!!!

  • To be closer to wilderness than an assignment. And wilderness is not punishment—it is preparation, reordering, and tenderness.

We are not abandoning our calling. We are allowing it to breathe.

The fruit of this season will likely be invisible at first. That is how we’ll know it’s doing its job.
