We are "Retired Christians" living the Grey Nomad Lifestyle.

We are Christians living the Grey Nomad Lifestyle. In Australia, a "Grey Nomad" is a term for retired or near-retired Australians, typically over 55, who travel for extended periods, often towing a caravan, camper trailer or driving a campervan. Grey nomads are known for their adventures across the country, particularly in semi-arid and coastal regions, either covering long distances in a day, or short trips and longer stays, having fun meeting other grey nomads and connecting with the younger adventure enthusiasts.

Our New Season as Husband and Wife.

It's official now: We are Christians living the grey nomad lifestyle, proudly identifying as Christian grey nomads. In Australia, the term 'grey nomad' refers to retired or nearing retirement Australians, generally over the age of 55, who embark on extended journeys across the country, typically in caravans, campervans, or camper trailers. This is our new lifestyle now we are retired.

Adventures Across Australia ... While embracing this new found freedom.

Grey nomads are renowned for their adventurous spirit, often traversing the great Australian landscape, particularly in semi-arid and coastal regions. These journeys can involve covering substantial distances in a single day, allowing nomads to explore the diverse terrain and vibrant communities that Australia has to offer. Sounds like a plan for Rowena and myself.

While some grey nomads dive headfirst into their travels, others prefer a slower pace, taking the time to figure out how this unique lifestyle works. For us, having a 'home base' to return to is essential; it allows us to recharge before setting out on our next adventure. This flexibility and freedom serve to enhance our experiences on the road, connecting us with new places, people, and practices. It also means we get to spend time with our children and our grandchildren ... all 10 of them.

A Purpose Beyond Adventure

As caravan and camping chaplains, we find deeper meaning and purpose in our journey. Our role allows us to contribute to the lives of fellow travelers and locals we encounter along the way. The grey nomad lifestyle isn’t just about travel; it’s a chance to embrace community, support one another, and share our faith.

Being Christian nomads means that wherever we go, we carry our beliefs with us, actively engaging with the communities we pass through. Our experiences on the road not only help us grow spiritually but also provide the opportunity to inspire others who are seeking guidance or companionship as they embark on their own journeys.

In conclusion, living as Christian nomads within the framework of the grey nomad lifestyle enriches our lives spiritually and socially. We cherish our adventures across this beautiful country and look forward to the many connections yet to be made. By staying true to our values and supporting others, we contribute to a larger narrative that goes beyond mere travel—it's a journey of faith, discovery, and service.

Caravan and Camping Chaplains:

Yes we are excited about living the "grey nomad lifestyle" enjoying our "retirement" and meeting others in the caravan and camping community.

However we are on a mission that is far bigger than ourselves.

We are "Caravan and Camping Chaplains." We are trusting that the Lord will teach us how to share His love with those we come into contact with.

Why Chaplaincy? We have a heart for people and have served over 10 years as community and business chaplains in the suburb of Balga and business chaplains in the Wheatbelt since 2018.

Prior to that we have served primarily in the church environment for over 20 years both in New Zealand and Australia, prior to transitioning into marketplace ministry and entrepreneurship.
